This is just a test for ipw2200 under the 2.4.34.1 kernel... for DSL v4.0 alpha 1 and 2.Yes, I know these are not available anymore, but I am just curious to know the results of whether it works or not, etc. and if there is actually much interest as has been indicated just because of the effects it has seemed to have. Please see download <removed>/ipw2200-1.0.1_k2.4.34.1.tar.bz2 (~1.1 mb) It contains the ipw2200 modules that were built from v1.0.1 with the 1.0.1-3 patches for 2.4.x kernels, plus crypto/michael_mic.o from the vanilla kernel tree. Anyways, if someone is interested in the other driver, ipw2100(?), I can look into that. Or if someone wants me to repackage the old mydsl files. I'd also be interested to know what the results are from forcing the modules from the mydsl releases (ala insmod -f) if anyone cares to try it. In the case of no activity, I'll consider this case closed :P Posted by Multitudes on Aug. 18 2007,19:59
I'll test 4.0rc1 within a few days./Multitudes Posted by infinitycircuit on Sep. 01 2007,17:47
Do these modules support wpa? In my testing with the old 2.4.31 modules they did not support wpa (or maybe I'm just doing something wrong.)EDIT: I see now that only 1.0.2 and greater work with WPA, and there is no backport for versions newer than the ones present here. Did you have trouble compiling these, or ..?Have you tried doing 2.4.26 - I've been unable to compile ipw2200 for 2.4.26 on dsl (as I've posted a few times). Be nice if someone could. Posted by jpeters on Sep. 03 2007,14:31
Copied from < http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/ > in order to use the IPW2200 driver you will need the following: 1. Linux (of course) with a 2.6.8+ kernel [link]. See README.ipw2200 for information on specific options required to be enabled in the kernel. 2. Wireless Extensions (v17) and Tools (v28) [link] 3. The IPW2200 driver. You can obtain the latest development snapshot below. 4. The IPW2200 binary firmware image. The firmware can be obtained here. Posted by ^thehatsrule^ on Sep. 03 2007,23:54

I would be happy to test a module for DSL-4.1RC3, which I have just installed, (frugal) on my Centrino laptop, with IPW2200.Just tell me what to do, noob style. JPsDad. Posted by curaga on Dec. 14 2007,20:40
Sorry, it doesn't use the 2.4.34.1 kernel.

Only the 4.0 alpha1 and 2 had the 2.4.34.1 kernel... which I don't think is going to be used again.Anyways, for the 2.4.26 kernel (i.e. DSL 1.x, 3.x, etc. series), the thread is < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....35;st=0 > |
