For my first post I'd just like to first Thank the makers of "DSL" for all their hard work in making such a great OS. I'm still amazed how much is included on such a small file size. I also love the ability to load the CD directly to the ram to free-up the drive while not requiring anything to be copyed to the HD "Although that is an option as well ". Un- fortunately for me linux is more of a hobby being more fun than practical due to the nature of my studys and current field of employment. While its possible for me to use linux for purposes of compatibility and/or rather conforming to an imposed standard I'm forced to use that M$ os "Which shall remain namless for this chapter ". One the many reasons I love this Distro because it runs on new and old machines alike. When u can take an operating system and go from running it on a 2.4 p-4 processor and then boot-up running on a p-90 with 16 megs of ram with only a 500 meg hd, That says something about an OS . So once again ThankYou for making that possible. That being said I would like to submit a few idea's or create a so called "Wish List", that would greatly enhance the usability in my case, or even be made available as a seperate module that could be loaded at the boot prompt so the base iso size would be un-affected. Due to its small size and hence the name I understand no one wants to bloat it up wth a ton of unnecessary software . I would just like to be able to utilize DSL as a rescue disk, and i would find the ability to burn a cd "Even through command prompt using the 'cdrecord and mkisof ' commads", to be very useful . Although a graphical one would be nice to help anyone new unix. Also if space would allow, some type of  recovery tool to salvage data damaged from a virus or a corupted partition could infact save the day and may even prevent baldness  ??? . Once again Thankyou for your efforts on such a great distro.

I think those are great ideas. I would totaly switch over to using only linux (DSL of course)if it wasn't for one thing ....gaming. I play games like counter-strike ,halo and warcraft 3, and due to my inexperience  with linux I have yet to master wine. But once I get through that barrier Ill say goodbye to M$ forever.

p.s. If any experience linux users is willing to help a linux newbie with wine, drop me a note or email me. [email protected]

Yes, I also would bann Windows forever from my HDD but I wan't to be able to play with my computer and afaik it's not easy to install modern games like Halo (a M$ game) using linux&wineX .
Yes - I know that wine can emulate these games but you have to know how linux works , you have to know how windows works (this could be difficult without the sourcecode :D ) and you have to have time a lot of time.

This is my 1st post day in this forum too :D
I agree w/ PhatomLord, DSL would sky-rocket if it had media burning capabilities! To make a knoppix toram, eject DSL and slide in a blank CD and burn it is a very near dream I expect so! :;):
Another super useful program from my wishlist is Kopete (or another capable program), ready to connect to MSN & Yahoo newly protected servers HEHE
And as I said in other posts scattered all over this forum, I do really wish for HD utils like PartImage, QTParted & Sfdisk >;-)
Another problem is keyboard layouts. Although I did 'loadkeys /usr/share/keymaps/i386/qwerty/br-abnt2*', it's only worked in CLI, and even so, I was unable to put the TILDE on top of a vowel. That is, instead of 'ã' I've obtained '~a' :(
And once inside FluxBox, no letter would be accented, although all keys from my keyboard are recognized O_o
Another bug report is just a minor curious glitch. I'm unable to have the NumLock LED on once I start to config my PPPoE ADSL. I can turn the LED on inside a CLI, but when I'm back to GUI, the LED is off again. But the keys work nonetheless ;-)
Well, I really dunno how Johnny could ever squeeze all those programs in a tiny card-CD. HEHE. Some redudant programs like Dillo can be erased, since Hacked Links is more capable than the previous one. >:-)
Keep up the good work!!!
